Heath Lib Dems, John Dixon & Fenella Bowden, are calling for more to be done to address cigarette litter in Heath Park Lane near the DWP offices.

Cllr. Fenella Bowden has been supporting residents' complaints about the number of smokers leaving their cigarette ends on the pathway in Heath Park Lane.

Fenella said: "It is often a real mess in the lane and very unpleasant for the nursery school children who use the Scout Hall each day."

Council officers have been in contact with the site managers about the problem and are asking for suitable bins to be installed at the entrance to the site. Signs have also been erected at the entrance to the DWP site.

The Heath & Birchgrove Focus Team will be monitoring the situation closely.
