Cllrs. Cathy Pearcy and Ed Bridges will be keeping local residents informed over the future of the Briardene site on North Road, Gabalfa.

The Gabalfa Liberal Democrat Focus Team continue to work on residents' behalf to resolve the future of the Briardene site on North Road.

The Road Safety Centre which used to be based at the site has now been relocated to the Maindy Centre on Crown Way, and the site is currently vacant. An outline planning application to build flats on the site was dismissed earlier this year after local Lib Dems represented residents on the issue and objected to the height and scale of the proposed development. Since then, no further application has been submitted.

Local councillor, Ed Bridges, said: "We will continue to lobby the Council to listen to residents' views on the issue. We are keen that any future use of the site should offer some sort of community benefit and not invade the privacy of neighbouring properties."

The Lib Dems will keep residents informed on any further developments.
