Pen-y-Bryn Road residents-only parking

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 7th Jun 2009

The Gabalfa Lib Dem Focus Team are pleased on progress to introduce residents-only parking for the streets around Pen-y-Bryn Road.

A survey of residents conducted last year by Cllr. Ed Bridges and Cllr. Cathy Pearcy showed that over 85% of respondents were in favour of such a scheme, with many expressing concern over potential future parking problems on the street when the former Curry's site becomes occupied by new residents.

Cathy and Ed therefore asked Cardiff Council to look into a residents-only parking scheme for Pen-y-Bryn Road and the surrounding streets. They agreed to the request and are currently going through the legal process of bringing in residents-only parking for Pen-y-Bryn Road, Pen-y-Bryn Place and Pen-y-Bryn Way.

Cllr. Cathy Pearcy said: "Under the plans, 50% of property frontages will be covered by the scheme, in line with council policy. We have been informed that if the scheme proceeds without any objections, the lines and signs indicating the restrictions should appear before the end of the year."

For more information, contact Ed Bridges or Cathy Pearcy.
