Hailey Park boost12.00.00am GMT Mon 16th Feb 2009
Local residents and Liberal Democrat councillors in Llandaff North ward have given a warm welcome to plans for a mini sports pitch in Hailey Park. Following a recent consultation with residents, 67% of respondents, including the Friends of Hailey Park group, came out in favour of the proposals. The new sports pitch is designed to provide a much-needed facility for young people in the area. It is hoped that the pitch will be up and running in time for the summer holidays.
Local Lib Dem councillor, Jacqui Hooper, told Focus: "Young people in our area have needed better recreation facilities for years, and it's great that the council is now providing the money to make it happen. I am sure that the new facility will have a positive impact on our community." Cllr. Ann Rowland-James added: "Where possible, the comments and concerns raised by residents in the consultation have been taken on board. I am pleased that so many people have had an input into the new facility."
